Porsche 914 & 914/6 Badges & Emblems

Constant, then Constant Change

Age, frequent restoration and rampant modification of Porsche 914 and 914/6 models has created confusion as to what came from the factory in many component categories. Factory badging is a good example. Although emblems on the 914 are sparse, finishes, materials and even quantities changed frequently after the 1972 model year. Of course, European and North American specification badging differed to support the dual marketing schemes (VW-Porsche in Europe and Porsche in North America). After-market products, dealer options and owner personalization have also served to cloud understanding of what actually left the factories in Wolfsburg and Zuffenhausen many years ago. Inaccuracies and oversights on this topic in popular Porsche 914 authenticity publications have further increased confusion.

The buttons on the left lead to pages with detailed descriptions, comparisons and pictures of authentic factory Porsche 914 & 914/6 emblems. Perhaps more importantly, each emblem is associated with the correct Porsche 914 model(s) and model year(s).

NOTE: Porsche 916 badging is briefly described (but not pictured) on the "Crest Badges" page. After all. this is P914, not P916.
