Just In Time Standardization

The chasses for the Porsche 914 and Porsche 914/6 model lines were all produced by Karmann in the same factory on the same production line. By 1972, the color choices and the paint codes for the Porsche 914 and Porsche 914/6 models were identical. Of course, this was the last year of production for the 914/6.

An Extremely Quick Experiment

1972 was also the year in which the Porsche 916 cars were produced (all 11 of them). Like the 914/6 GT models, the 916 vehicles came in a mixture of Porsche 914 and Porsche 911 production colors.
